PRIVACY POLICY

DIRTNAP has no accounts, no ads, and no gameplay telemetry. We do not track what you play, how long you play, or who you play with.

The one thing the game sends us is a crash report, and only after the game has actually crashed.

When DIRTNAP closes unexpectedly, the next time you start it the game sends us a report describing that crash. It contains the game version, your operating system, your graphics adapter model, and the end of the game engine's own log file - the part that says where the code failed.

Before anything is sent, the game removes the identifiers a log carries by accident: IP addresses, your Steam ID, your Steam or player name, and the account name inside file paths. What is left is meant to describe a bug and nothing else. We cannot promise it is perfect - a name typed into a lobby can end up inside a line we do not recognise - so if you would rather we did not keep a report, write to us and we will delete it.

Crash reports are processed for us by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) on their European servers, and are deleted automatically 30 days after they arrive. Only the people who make the game can read them, and they are used for one purpose: fixing the crash.

In multiplayer, the name you choose and your in-match state travel to the other players in your game, because that is what makes the match work. Over a local network this goes directly between the machines; over the internet it goes through Steam's relays, where Valve's own privacy policy applies. We run no game servers of our own and store none of it.

DIRTNAP is sold on Steam. Your purchase, payment details and Steam account are handled entirely by Valve under their privacy policy - we never see them. What we receive from Steam is aggregate sales and wishlist figures, which identify nobody.

dirtnapgame.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you; it records the page visited, the referring site, and general technical details of the request. We use it to see which pages people read.

Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to our processing it. Write to privacy@dirtnapgame.com and we will answer. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority; in Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
